Job Summary: The ‘Ohana Conferencing (OC) Manager is responsible for leading the statewide ‘Ohana Conferencing program. The OC Manager directs and supervises the functions and activities of the ‘Ohana Conferencing Supervisor, Coordination Manager, and the Scheduler Specialist. The OC Manager handles the OC related projects to ensure that they are in line with the stated goals of EPIC ‘Ohana, Inc. The OC Manager needs to be analytical about the program, and needs excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate problems and potential solutions. Direct activities, oversee training, and manage staff and volunteers to ensure that ‘Ohana Conferencing program meets all of the sub-contract and contract requirements and that resources are used effectively. Actively seek out, interview, and hire qualified individuals, whose philosophy is in concert with the EPIC mission, interested in training as facilitators, recorders, and coordinators for OC. Establish and maintain relationships with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and other community organizations to meet community needs and to ensure that services are not duplicated. Research and analyze community needs and feedback to determine program direction and goals. Continually seek out potential partners on all islands for ‘Ohana Conferences. Meet regularly with President & CEO to brainstorm avenues for ongoing relationship building in the community. Establish and oversee administrative procedures to meet objectives set by the President & CEO. Plan, prepare, administer, and maintain records and reports, such as budgets, personnel records, equipment, support services, and/or training manuals as required by contract or as requested by President & CEO. Provide ongoing information and/or training for identified partners on ‘Ohana Conferences as well as on other topics and issues that affect and support all parties involved in caring for children and families. Work with President & CEO and Human Resources Manager to mediate any staff issues. Make adjustments, changes, additions to program processes as evaluations deem prudent in order to maintain the highest quality product for families.
Minimum Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree (Master's degree highly preferred) in a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning; and a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years case management or human services-related experience and/or training. Must have an understanding of group work and child welfare. Experience in Program design, evaluation, and management highly preferred. Must be willing to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction. Must be able to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Must be able to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time. Must be able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish the goals of the OC program. Must be able to maintain an ethical, responsible, and professional attitude and demeanor under all circumstances in person, by phone, e-mail, and correspondence, in order to effectively and efficiently engage and maintain working relationships with families, professionals, who are undergoing complex and crises situations. Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and maturity. Decisive and able to make tough decisions as required. Committed to quality and performance improvement. Individual with experience working with families whose children have been harmed or threatened with harm and in facilitation and/or mediation, preferred. Individual with culturally relevant training and/or experience specific to the community served, preferred. Must have a strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with the organization’s leadership team and others. Ability to be proficient with computer use including keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets and database manipulation. Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required. Valid driver’s license, no-fault automobile insurance, acceptable motor vehicle abstract, and access to an insured, reliable vehicle are needed. Successful criminal and child abuse and neglect background clearance as required by state regulations for those who work with children and families in the Child Welfare System.
